METEOROLOGY PART I – ATMOSPHERE AND ALTIMETRY: Learn what is the Atmosphere, its components and mechanisms, and the science of altimetry applied to Aviation. Course content pursuant to ICAO Annex 1 / Chap.4 / 4.6.1.2 and ICAO Annex 6 / Chap.4 / 4.6.

This lesson is designed to help you understand the basics of meteorology, by starting with the Earth’s Atmosphere.

Module sub-parts and themes:

-Composition of the Atmosphere
-Structure of the Atmosphere: the different layers
-The International Standard Atmosphere (ISA)
-Atmospheric pressure and density
-Pressure measurement and instruments
-Introduction to Altimetry
-Calculations and examples

You must follow the module in the imposed order.

At the end, a quiz is proposed in order to evaluate your knowledge level. Afterwards, you will be able to come back to the lesson you’ve learned.

This course will take 30 mn.
